Information We Collect
Account information
Name, work email address, phone number, company name, and your role within your organisation when you register.
Fleet and vehicle data
Vehicle registration numbers, vehicle type, state of registration, challan details, and document expiry dates (fitness certificate, PUC, insurance, permits) fetched from government RTO databases via the Parivahan portal.
Driver data
Driver names, licence numbers, violation history, and calculated risk scores, collected with your organisation's consent.
Payment data
Transaction records for challans paid through the platform. Card and bank account details are handled directly by our payment partners — we do not store raw payment instrument data.
Usage data
IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and feature usage to help us improve the platform and diagnose issues.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the ChallanWala platform
- Sync challan and compliance data in real-time from government sources
- Send alerts for new challans, expiring documents, and compliance gaps via SMS, email, and WhatsApp
- Calculate driver risk scores and generate compliance analytics
- Process challan payments on your behalf
- Provide customer support
- Send product updates and billing notices
- Detect and prevent fraud or misuse
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
Data Storage
Your data is stored on servers located in India (AWS Mumbai region). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We implement access controls to limit who within our organisation can access customer data.
Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. On account closure, you can request an export of your data. After a reasonable period following closure, data may be permanently deleted.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice within the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
